Social and Behavioral Sciences Ph.D.

This program equips students with an understanding of health as the intersection of structural, cultural, social, behavioral and biological factors, preparing them to become scientists, educators and program administrators across a broad spectrum of settings.

M.P.H. Concentration in Cancer Health Equity Science

The first of its kind in Virginia, this M.P.H. concentration provides cutting edge public health training including direct engagement with community and patient populations via integrated learning experiences. Students receive training in community engaged research principles and analysis of the burden of cancer through a health equity lens, equipping graduates to excel in diverse public health careers or further education.
