Our Mission

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences is dedicated to advancing health equity and social justice via transdisciplinary research, education, and service. We are committed to identifying and addressing social and behavioral factors affecting the health of individuals, communities, and populations locally, nationally, and globally. From community-based participatory research to clinical trials, we employ rigorous quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods. In partnership with the communities we serve, we design, implement, and evaluate programs and actionable solutions that move us closer to achieving health equity.

Our Vision

We aspire to be recognized for our real-world impact in service of social justice and health equity.
